About Us
We are a specialist academy with a Sixth Form and cater for pupils and students aged between 11 and 19 years. We are part of the Inspire Connected Communities Trust, along with Warren Wood Specialist Academy, St. Bernard's School and St. Lawrence School.
Our pupils and students have a range of associated learning needs as well as a complex profile of additional needs including the following:
- challenging behaviour with difficulties around engaging in learning
- severe complex speech language and communication needs
- high level needs in relation to personal care requirements
- emotional wellbeing challenges; for example, sensory deregulation, heightened anxiety levels
- therapeutic requirements including Speech and Language, Physiotherapy, Rebound therapy
- a range of health challenges; for example, epilepsy, asthma, anxiety, sleep
- school refusal, where they may have developed anxiety around school
- attachment disorders
We have achieved a number of awards including Basic Skills Quality Mark Secondary, Healthy Schools, Enhanced Values Education (we are the first Special Needs School in the country to attain this award), and Wellbeing Award, all of which have a positive impact on learning through creating a culture of respect and a focus on behaviour for learning in relation to Personal Development and Wellbeing.
